I am considering buying an Epson 2200 printer for Christmas, but have heard
that the prints are very expensive. I have heard that an 11" x 17" will cost
approximately $5.00 and an 8 "x 10" costs approximately $2.00.

Would appreciate hearing from anyone that has any information regarding the
cost of printing with this printer.

Thank you,

If you're using premium papers, that's maybe a little high, but close. As
for them being expensive, when was the last time you priced large prints
from your local mini-lab, or even Walmart?

I have the 2100 since 1 year now and printed the equivalent of about 75 A4
(8x10 inch) prints. I have used about 11.5 cartridges. (Keep track of it using
the Status Monitor) I mainly print on Archival Matte.
This boils down to 2.75 euro per A4. (a cartridge costs about 18 euro over
here)
I don't count the non-photo prints, so real costs may be a bit lower. (by a
maximum of 10 percent I guess)

So your figures are about right...

Stefan.
