It is an interesting printer for 4"x6" prints. One of the interesting features
is the paper/ink bundle, which in the US provides an ink cartridge and 100
sheets of photo paper for $29. This brings the cost per print down to levels
comparable with the store's printing services.
You might also take a look at HP's new Photosmart 375. It has a color LCD
display that allows basic editing (zoom, crop, etc), and has an optional
battery for completely portable operation. With the #700 color cartridge/photo
paper bundle it gives print costs comparable to the Picturemate. Search for
Photosmart 375 at http://www.hp.com for more details.

Epson will buy back any extra paper if you run out of ink in a kit.
The prints have a long archival life.

1. The printer has some amount of bronzing effects due to the pigmented
ink.
2. The print speed is somewhat slow.
Overall, however, it probably one of the best quality home printers for low
per print cost.
