My state fair has two different companies selling ink jet refills this week.
Are these any better/worse than the ones I can buy online? I have never done
this yet but would like to for my Lexmark Z11 and Canon 6000. Thanks for any
info.

Refills are found every where as a source of income for many a "garage
business" or small business. So alot depends on what they offer and if
they stand behind it. You can always try one and hope for the best, but
generally speaking those offering from a "storefront" should be better in
at least they can't run away from thier problems they have to honor what
they sell. Besides refill shops, those offered from office supply centers
like OfficeMax and Staples and similar offer a decent product and do what
they're made for and are certainly lower $ than new. If you can find a
baragain, try it, but understand you're not going to se them until next
fair or go throught the snail mail route for refund or exchange. You may
want to try refills yourself it really pays back even more.

good luck -----Willy

Hi,

There are many good refill vendors on the net who have good products and
guarantee them (like me :)

However, I can tell you from some of my reps' experiences, the computer shows and
auctions are not the place to get these products. They have been driven out by
cost cutting vendors who often sell ink with little more than food coloring as
the base, provide zero support and will not accept returns. There is a lot more
to inkjet ink than just color.

Reputable refill vendors will save you a lot of money with their refill kits. If
you try to squeeze a few more dollars you may end up with just what you paid for
- junk!

I don't like "knocking" the competition - but many of these aren't competition
and should be put out of business.
