300 DPI means 300 dots per inch horizontally by 300 dots per inch
vertically, or 90,000 dots per square inch.
Ideally, there wouldn't be any space between the dots. In practice, it
depends on your printer. Get a magnifying glass and check out something
printed at 300 DPI.
