I've had no luck installing the epson 820 on my XP computer, with the
supplied drivers. I have it installed fine on my Windows 2000 computer. It
seems that my computer recognized my printer when I plugged in the cable
into the USB port... even though the printer was off. Now, XP installed the
printer with the driver that came with XP... that's ok, but the status
monitor dosen't work.... you know ink levels and the like. Well, Epson said
to uninstall the printer... and well it didn't help.
Any ideas????
Thanks,

I have my 820 running on an XP Home machine, but I'm using a parallel
connection. If ou have a parallel cable around, it might be worth a try.

I've got the epson 820 on the usb port and using the epson drivers for
xp; my install was just to run the epson install for the "latest" drivers.
Didn't uninstall the win xp drivers as the epson just overrides/overlay
the m$ stuff.
Don't know if it matters, but I did the upgrade to w2k instead of a
fresh install....
