Hi,
I recently read on this group that if one ink cartridge of an Epson
printer is out, the printer will not print at all. I was wondering
if that was true for the HP printer. Both ink cartridges were
almost empty a few weeks ago and then one day I tried to
print some text files and it acts like it is printing but no ink comes
out.
I tried to clean the heads and align the heads, but there is no
ink coming out on the paper. I would think that both cartridges
would not go out at the same time. So, in the cleaning, I would
see some ink.
I was wondering if it is time to throw out this printer or
if I just need to buy a print cartridge or two.

Thanks

Mike

Don't swap advice from one printer to another as it maybe confusing,
wrong, or at least improper for the printer at hand. :/

Remove ink carts and clean them at the nozzle face with a damp clean cloth
return and test again. Notice, if you don't get ink smears that really
smear when cleaning then replace as empty. If you truly believe them to
be "empty" anyways then you got to replace them. However, if you've
refilled them(???) then allow them to sit awhile to allow any bubbles
formed to bleed or rise up within the ink cart or use any corrective
action the ink refill supplier may suggest. If the cost of replacement ink
cart appraoching the price of new low-end printer, hey why not try
that. :')

Those are my 2-cents on the topic, good luck -----Willy
