Color tabloid laser printer recommendations?

Hi,

I work for a small business that is looking to buy a color laser printer
that can print on tabloid-sized (11x17) pages. We are planning on
spending about $5000 or less. The printer must be networkable. Does
anybody have any recommendations on which printer to get? Are there any
models/brands that one should definitely avoid?

It may interest you to know that HP or CDW has a $1000 rebate on the HP
8550N, so it ends up the same price or cheaper than the plain 8550. The
difference is more memory and one of the ridiculously expensive EIO
JetDirects (and maybe another paper tray?). You may also want to get
one of the EIO hard drives to use the "mopier" ability.

I can't say if the 8550 is better or worse than other color lasers. The
one I've used is slow to warm up and not all that speedy printing.
Overall, it's okay.
