and we replaced it. When we printed a document, it was faded at the top, hit
and miss but the printing was very light and then it went blank at the
bottom. So we figured the cartridge was a dud and got another one, but it
didn't help.
The settings for the printer are correct. I reloaded the driver just in case
it might have been damaged but this it didn't help either.
I am wondering if it could be the transfer roller that is mentioned on HP's
site

_doc/bpl03865# ) but they make no mention about how to replace it or where
it can be gotten and this printer looks like it is no longer supported by
them.
It is very compact and fits the space available for it so I am hating the
idea of having to replace it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The transfer roller would give you light print. The transfer roller can be
ordered from www.printerworks.com on line or www.partsnow.com or
www.genicom.com The last two sites you many have to order by phone.

Will it print a full page of word processing?
Half page printout is usually lack of memory on the printer. Try
setting it to 300dpi.
