Epson or Kyocera take a lot of beating for quality of print and cost of

And Kyocera old model 5900c is actually Xerox Phaser 750. The Xerox next
model P.790 is coming from 780 but Phasers 1235 (A4) and 2135 (A3) are
based on OKI LED engine?!?

Are you sure about Minolta? They took over QMS, whose colour laser
printers had a good reputation among the people I know. I never used
them myself, though.
Early Epson laser printers were not much good in my opinion. I don't
know the current situation; in fact, I didn't know that Epson and
Kyocera made colour laser printers.
Best wishes,

Since you mention greeting cards, make sure you actually test each printer
with the actual cards you plan to use. Some printers claim to allow paper
up to 90lb or 110lb but in practice you may find these are not reliable,
so test test test -- and anticipate a higher rate of paper jams and faster
replacement cycles for some consumables that touch the paper.
Also, try to anticipate if you'll need a paper width larger than 8.5
inches -- if so, you will probably need to jump to an 11x17 printer (the
HP 8550 and Ricoh AP306 meet this need, and I love my 11x17 color
images!).
When projecting your actual lifetime cost, be sure to include replacement
of toner, fuser, drum, OPC unit, rollers, charger units, etc. -- some
manufacturers (especially Minolta) will "forget" to mention some expensive
consumables that must be frequently replaced. The Ricoh printer got the
edge because the company charges much less for color toner when computed
on a per-page basis.
Let me know if you'd like a copy of the spreadsheet I used while computing
relative costs.
By comparison, you'd spend only about $6,000 to print the same number of
pages on the Ricoh AP306 (base cost $3,400 plus consumables).
Don't be penny wise and pound foolish. If you plan to print very few pages
per month, you should seriously consider the high-end inkjet printers.
DO THE MATH.

Our next color laser will likely be the 21-ipm Xerox Phaser 2135 with
network support, duplexing, and the optional paper trays.
