A friend got a Canon 6000 at Best Buy with a rebate. Is this rebate any good,
will it take months to receive it, or is it worthless? Thanks. Mi...@aol.com

Well, maybe he should send it in and find out? We'll all be waiting on edge
for the results.

Jeez!

I've purchased 2 Canon printers in the last 4 months. A bjc2000 with a 30.00
rebate and a bjc3000 with a 50.00 rebate and received them both within the
allotted time period. 6-8 weeks

I recently purchased a 3000 and sent in the rebate form. I've received
two emails from Canon/fulfillment center, 1st that they received the
request, and second that they were processing it. I've never seen a
rebate offered handled so well.

Of course, I haven't yet gotten any money back but I am very optimistic.

I purchased a Canon BJC-5100 during August '99. It came with a
$30 rebate which I sent it within a few days after purchase.
About 3-4 months later, I received denial letter which stated
that I hadn't furnished a proper proof of purchase for me Canon
2xxx series printer. I wrote back (certified) stating that of
course I didn't include such a proof of purchase because what I'd
bought was a BJC-5100. A few months later, I received an
identical letter from them and I replied with copies of what I'd
sent earlier. I sent that to the address furnished on the
rejection letter and sent a copy (also certified) to a Canon
address I found on their web site. On August 4 of this year
(almost a year after sending in the original claim) I finally
received a $30 check from Canon.

Canon is very strict about submission. It has to be submitted by the letter
or they'll reject the claim. Mail-in rebates are used to draw consumers into
buying a printer with the thought that they're getting a good deal.
