1.) Considering the high price tag, is the quality of the Photo printouts as
good as you'd expect from a $600 printer? Or, maybe a better question would
be to compare the quality of the D145 photo printouts with that of HP's
Photosmart 7550, or Epson Stylus 1280 / 2200.
2.) I've read something to the effect that the cost per page of color
printout is higher than with other printers. In your experience, is that
true, and if yes how much more expensive are the D145 printouts?
3.) Are there any refillable ink cartridges available which perform about as
good as the HP originals? if yes, please let me know where I could get
some.
Any information you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks.
Dan.
The D145 is really designed as a fast all-in-one unit, suitable for small
business. It is really not intended as a high end photo printer. Compared to
the Photosmart 7550, the D145 is faster, particularly for color, but the
Photosmart 7550 has better photo quality. The Photosmart is a 7 ink printer,
the D145 is a 4 ink printer.
http://www.hp.com/cposupport/printers/support_doc/bpa02074.html has information
on the ink cartridge used in the D145; the color cartridge is rated at 400
pages at 15% coverage.
