just read about the new HP1210 - printer, scanner, copier -
so - we wandered over to Office Depot to take a look -
very small box and just perfect for the crowded desk area.

I do like the USB connection which should be faster
than using a parallel connection - however, my concern
would be for our laptop using NT Workstation
along with another laptop using RH Linux -

Any comments on this new HP1210 PSC ??

Hi Phil,

I assume you mean the HP 2110 instead of 1210? I own the 2110 and love it!
Just like you said, it is perfect for the crowded desk area. The bundled
scanning software will only support 24bit output though. You need something
like photoshop to get the full 48bits. Using this printer with NT however
is not possible (at least as far as I know). NT doesn't support USB human
interface devices, and this printer is USB only. Windows 2000 and XP work
fine. I don't use linux, so I can't comment on that.

Hope this helps..

nope - actually the HP1210 is a brand new PSC printer -

the top cover is a small 8x11 scanner -
the buttons are on the left side -

Not a tremendously good choice if copying or scanning from books, as the
scanner cover hinge doesn't adjust for thick documents.

It doesn't feel too robust either.
