Does anyone out there know a source in Canada for after-market ink
cartridges for Lexmark printers?

I have TWO Lexmark 3200 printers less than a year old ...I've refilled each
cartridge three times and now I need new cartridges.

All I can find here (Eastern Ontario) are Lexmark made ... no generic
brands.

A black and a colour cartridge will set me back $123 with taxes ... a
replacement printer will set me back $109 ... and it comes with cartridges.
I don't want to spend more money on ink than I would on a printer ... but
somehow it seems a waste to have two virtually new printers sitting here and
buy a third printer.

Some time ago I saw a generic black ink cartridge that sold for about half
the Lexmark brand ... it came in blue and white packaging. Can't remember
the name of the company ... but I know it's out there some place.

Any help would be appreciated. e-mail me direct if you have any suggestions.

Thanks.

Cut your losses on Lexmark and buy another brand of printer.
As usual IBM of which Lexmark is a subsidiary is totally out of touch with
the market and pricing. Lexmark is predominantly only sold through top price
stores and not in the discount chain, and that is enough reason for Lexmark
to think their ink cartridges and low quantity of ink in them is worth three
times the price of others.

Lexmark must be doing things diferently in Australia, then.

Here in the USA, all the discount office supplies stores have several
models of Lexmark inkjet printer, and the cartridges are available
almost everywhere. I can't say I like the prices of the cartridges, but
it has nothing to do with restricted availability.

Lexmark was spun off from IBM maybe eight years ago; it's now
completely independent. One can find Lexmark injet cartridges - new and
remanufactured - on eBay for prices much less than full list. (Refill kits
are also available if they so interest you.)

Maybe not in Canada, but you could order from web sites in USA.

One of the web sites, the second one above, sells refilled
Lexmark cartridges for about US$18. They also encourage doing
your own refilling and will sell you the ink. Where did you get
your ink?

```Patent on something in the cartridge. No one else can make it
$123 seems way to high. I bought a PAIR of black
(Lexmark-12A1970's) at Staples at a slight sale price of $50 less
a $10 general purpose e-mail coupon. That comes to $20 each. I
intend to refill them. I did not use up the color yet, so I do
not know what I will do about that.
BTW, I paid $10 for the Lexmark 3200, looks new, at a flea
market. Still some color in the cart. it had.
Pelican pack in a blue and white package.
Ko-Rec-Type. They made compatible Lexmark catridges.
