I have a HP personal type laser printer, I think it's the 6L and it has a
problem with it's paper handling. When I print, multiple sheets of paper come
out. I tried fiddling with it and can't get it to work. Any suggestions? Any
one else have this problem? Anybody know how much it would cost to get it
fixed?

Thanks!

HP has a free separation pad kit that should take care of this problem
for you. See the following for details.

It does work, but it's a band aid type approach that involves
"dangling" a replacement pad over the old worn out one. The
pad is quite easy to dislodge out of place and I've heard of
instances of it coming off and attaching itself to the fuser roller.
HP say it is a "one time use" fix. Usually free fixes are worth
exactly what you pay for them..

Moe didn't mention it, but he has a kit to fix the problem. I installed it
on our church's printer, & it's worked fine since then. I would highly
recommend it. If you're not sure how to do it, pay careful attention to the
video that he sends with the kit and you'll do alright.

That's what I thought, it's only a tempory solution used to get HP off the
hook. I got fried for suggesting that one cannot do the repair without
dismantling the printer and had that solution stuck in my face. As I don't
have any faith in super glue solutions to a basic design problem I usually
refere to your site for a kit and video.
