I found the specs on a Sanyo BP5 cd writer (scsi 50 pin) but can not locate
the product for sale anywhere on the net except two- ILY its called, and
they have a crappy answering machine message when I try to call, and also
they do not answer my email inquiries (4 total). The other is called
Memorymedia and they are the same... these stores seem shady based on my
experience of years of web shopping.
I really want a pair of these cd writers, so any help locating them for sale
through a reputable vendor would be appreciated. I do realize that these
writers are being sold by Sanyo as "oem" and do not support the hardware to
the end user.

Thanks,
Randy

the sanyo is burn proof scsi and is 24x. if i upgrade from my 8x to the
24x then that will end the rat race for speed with me and i will be happy.
i just didnt see a reason to upgrade to a 12x or even 16x because i wanted
"substantially better" than what i currently have. the sanyo is priced very
cheap also compared to yamaha burners. it rates well too. i guess it just
seems like the way to go. other than that, i guess theres nothing "special"
about the sanyo.
