While I can't answer your specific question, maybe this will
help. I've used this library on linux worry-free (for a
raytracer, nothing serious though)... From the page it looks
like vxworks is supported as well...

Hi,

Can the later version of the STL be used with earlier version of
Tornado successfully?

I need to use Tornado 2.1 due to board support pack versions for the
CPU crad.
