INCLUDE_SECURITY and rlogin

I am using VxWorks 5.5.1 (Tornado 2.2.1) on a MV5100 (ppc) target. In
target/config/all/configAll.h I have INCLUDE_SECURITY defined. This
should cause my target to prompt for username/passwd
(LOGIN_USER_NAME/LOGIN_PASSWORD) for remote logins (INCLUDE_RLOGIN also
defined). However, I can rlogin to the target and get the shell without
being prompted for a password.

If I INCLUDE_TELNET, telneting to the target will prompt me for a
password as expected for INCLUDE_SECURITY. However, my preference is to
disable telnet, enable rlogin, and require password.

Reading the entry for loginLib in "VxWorks OS Libraries API Reference
5.5" shows the login/passwd facility should work for both rlogin and
telnet. With another target running VxWorks 5.4.2, I get the desired
password prompt at rlogin with a similar configAll.h.

Any ideas as to what is happening?

Thanks,

Yeah!!. That is true. From what I recollect, this functionality got
broken in vxWorks 5.5.1 and there was an SPR on this. Check with WRS
folks if they have the fix.

Thanks. It looks like it is bug ID 86755. However, it appears that my
maintenance agreement has already expired and windsurf won't let me get
to the SPR. Anyone have any suggestions or possible workarounds?
