I was wondering if anyone's tried to setup an FTP server on a vxWorks
system. I'm trying to figure out how to set up FTP at all so I can
access remote files that I need, but I can forsee needing to have the
VxWorks system running as an FTP server. So, a couple questions. How
do you set up FTP so you can grab a remote file and use it in vxWorks,
and secondly, is it possible to set up the vxWorks system as an FTP
server?

Thanks friends!

You have to include 'network components -> networking protocols ->
network filesystem -> ftp server' into your vxworks image.
With this you can use your target as FTP File server. Not all ftp
clients work together with vxworks so you best use ws_ftple from
ipswitch.

I don't know how to configure a secure FTP File server (user rights
and password).

Hope to help you.

Ok, easy enough.

How do you configure it, start it up, etc? I'd imagine it's run as it's
own thread, right?

Thanks,

It will be started automatically when you include it in your build using
the project facility. And yes, it has its own thread.

Just look in VxWorks tab of your project in Tornado, network components ->
networking protocols -> network filesystems -> FTP server
