tftp hangs after downloading to target

My system configuration is an MBX860 board with a VxWorks bootrom installed.
The board is connected via ethernet to my NT which is acting as a tftp
server. I am using Hummingbird for tftp. I have configured the boot
parameters to autoboot a downloadable version of VxWorks. The boot and the
download work just fine. I then ld an application to the target. If the
target/application crashes, I reboot and attempt to re-download.

The problem is: subsequent downloads (boots) of VxWorks generate the
following error:

Attached TCP/IP interface to cpm0.
Attaching network interface lo0... done.
Loading... tftpGet: Error occurred while transferring the file.
Erroneous header read

Error loading file: errno = 0x610001.

Some clues that may or may not be relevant are: 1) After getting the above
error, I cannot delete/rename the Vxworks file on my PC. I get a sharing
violation. 2) I have to reboot my PC to clear this situation. Simply
logging out and back in does not clear the condition. Once rebooted, the
file can be deleted/renamed, and a download will now work. 3) I see the
tftp process running in my task manager, but I cannot end the process. The
message returned is "the operation could not be completed" "access denied".

Does anyone have any ideas regarding this behavior.

TIA

Jeff

Looks to me like the problem is with the Hummingbird software.
Try using the tftp server that comes with tornado (tftpd32.exe).
It is simple enough and free!

We use it with our MBX860 board and never had a problem.
(No booting problems at least ;-)

That seems to have cleared up the 'hang/reboot' problem. Thanks.

I verified the file to be elf format.

The problem no longer appears since I started using Tornado's tftp, instead
of Hummingbird. Thanks.
