stripppc and objcopyppc

I am trying to use stripppc and objcopyppc to strip the symbol information
from my vxWorks elf executable file. The resulting files do not boot. The
Solaris 7 strip command (/usr/ccs/bin/strip), however, does seem to work
fine. Does anyone know of problems reported against the vxWorks stripping
utilities?

I have tried the following options...
objcopy -S vxWorks vxWorks.strip
objcopy -g vxWorks vxWorks.strip
objcopy --strip-unneeded vxWorks vxWorks.strip
stripppc vxWorks.

stripppc has an SPR #8706 for this problem in Tornado 2/vxWorks 5.4.
The Host tools on Windows platform have some outstanding SPRs open. Your
support folks should have been able to tell you this. You should use the
objcopyppc instead of the objcopy command. Try that instead.
