As per the post from Louis, what makes you think this is the same person ?

There's nothing in the report you linked to which says that.

Does someone from VSI want to confirm whether this is the same Kevin or
if the OP is wrong ?

Thanks,

Simon.

Snowshoe,

With all due respect, we should all be far more careful about posts of this ilk. While I have the arguable luxury of, so far as I know, being the only Robert Gezelter, many names have numerous doppelgangers.

VSI is privately-held, but even privately-held businesses can be impacted by incorrect stories. Rumors spread worldwide at the click of a mouse, and we should be careful not to add to the immense population of online misinformation.

I agree with Bob.

There aren't many named Phillip Helbig (especially spelled with that
number of l's in those places); I'm not the BMX-bike guy. :-)

I'd wager a bet that I don't! ;)

That might not be as safe a bet as you think. Your name sounds
rather generic German to me.

On another note.

My father's mother changed her name when she arrived in Philadelphia
so people from the old country couldn't find her. She made up the
name she gave immigration. My father was an only child. When we were
growing up we were often informed that we had no relatives that shared
our name. Since the advent of the Internet dozens of people with that
same made up last name have appeared. None of them related, but having
the same name.

Three or four of 'me' crop up regularly, and I'm sure there are more.

But Google just picks up Twin Peaks references: "He is Bob, eager for
fun"...!

LOL.

I have the old family bible "tree" that goes back to the 13th century.

Four to six generations of the family were added through research into
further generations. I have a complete compilation and it it NOT that
vast.

6 generations on one A5 page? Sure you're not Tasmanian?

Not a lot of forking going on in that "tree" :-)

My mother's maiden name is very rare. My cousin with that surname knows
he's the only person in the US with his first and last name.

My name is rare enough that we Moroneys notice other Moroneys, but is
not that rare. My wife's maiden name is also extremely rare.

Your family Bible lists no future generations? 😆

Hardly any Brians in Germany, probably none with that last name.

Huh?

The bible was updated to around 1900. After that, research was conducted
to bring it up-to-date to my generation. It'll need to be updated again
to contain the children and grandchildren.

This thread seems to have wandered rather off-course.

I'm pretty sure my name is unique, and has never been used before.

FWIW: the family name (Omond) stems from Shetland and Norway.
