SOLVED: TQK70 Jumper Settings

The following was the *BEST* reply to my question regarding TK70 jumpers.
From a fellow who does not have access to comp.os.vms.

If there is a VAX hardware FAQ somewhere, this ought be included.

I don't know weather you've already got an answer to your TQK70 request on the
Internet or not. If so, here is another one:

The first digit always is seven and cannot be altered.
The second digit is either seven or six. If A12 is in, it means seven,
otherwise it's six.
A11 - A9 determines the third digit. ( 100 binary = 4)
A8 - A6 determines the fourth digit. ( 101 binary = 5)
A5 - A3 " " fifth " ( 000 0)
A2 determines the last digit which is only valid if it's 0 or 4(oct).
IF A2 is in, it means 4, otherwise it's 0.

A definition for the interrupt vector isn't needed, as it is
always the lowest according to the devices standard or alternate
address.
CAUTION :
Don't forget to adjust the other devices on the Q-bus !!! :-)

Note that the DHV11 vectors have to be adjusted !!!!
If this is not done, the DHV11s will be in a muddle and the tape drive
will remain invisible.
Depending on your configuration other devices may be affected.

BTW, have you ever tried to power up the drive without a connection
to the controller ?
If the "tape in use"-light is still on under this condition, the drive
may be defective. :-(
