Now that I am getting some old hardware going again I have come up
with another question. Because it has a VGA video adapter I assume
pretty much any flat screen monitor will work with the Alpha.

However!!! Is there anything I( can do to use flatscreen monitors with
my VAXStations and my VXT Terminal? The few times I have tried using
modern terminals with old systems I get the "out of scan rate" error.
I could understand this being a problem the other way around, but I
don't understand why these monitors can't deal with much slower scan
rates.

Anybody able to offer any sugestions or am I stuck withe those huge
DEC Monitors?

That depends on the particular graphics controller that's installed in
the Alpha box.

With all but the oldest controllers, generally yes, they're
VGA-capable. <http://labs.hoffmanlabs.com/node/46>

Particularly with the older controllers, you'll find now-rare
connectors, synch-on-green, or need to connect BNCs to VGA, etc.

Maybe this one is helpful:

No luck. http://www.gsi.de works, but that's all.

FWIW...

Both works over here. The first one (www.gsi.de) re-directs automaticly
to the second address (www-aix.gsi.de). Win7 with FF 15.0.1.
