Hi,
I'm looking for a microkernel-based OS with existing/forthcoming
implementations of Java Virtual Machine and (possibly) Object Request
Broker. Microkernel architecture isn't absolutely necessary, but at least
soft RT capabilities are. Support (driver) for some ATM card (that provides
also "raw" AAL0/AAL5) would be a plus. The system would be used to run
telecommunications software.
Thanks,
Petteri

JavaOS seems the most obvious choice. However, any platform that
supports Java, along with some sensible set of communications
protocols, should be able to run Java-based ORBs, such as Joe.

You may be interested in the Java Telephony and Management APIs, then.
