I asked a while ago about using Linux on a 68k VME system, and was told I
would need to upgrade to a much more powerful processor board than I
currently have(Motorola MVME133 + MVME133XT.
As much as I like Linux, I want to use my 68K VME kit. My MVME133 Processor
board has Microware OS-9 Boot ROM's fitted. I have found that I still have
the Manuals and Software(OS-9/68020 MVME133, MVME320, MVME702 Dev.. Pack
Ver. 2.2 on 3 x 5 1/4" Floppies). As the included is uEmacs, OS-9 Basic,
OS-9/68K C Compiler and ALD (Assembler/Linker/Debugger), I'd like to use it
again. But that won't be until I move to Vancouver late June/July time.
Can anyone tell me if they have used Microware OS-9 on a VME system? If so,
is there anything I should be aware of in installing the software?
According to the manuals, this software can be installed for use with the
following CPU modules MVME101,117,12x,13x,133,107,134,135 and 147. I can
only assume the disks have to be prepared with the specific
processor/peripheral combination in mind.
Can anyone shed any more light about OS-9/VME.
