I have OS/2 Warp 3 on a 486/33 system and I would like to move it to
my
Thinkpad R40 so I can use APL2 on that system. (APL2 for Linux or for
Windows is priced at a ridiculous $1500 or thereabouts; APL2 for OS/2
was around $150.) Do I need to upgrade to Warp 4 or will Warp 3
handle the Thinkpad hardware properly?

Also, I looked around on IBM's web site but found no prices for Warp 4
and no useful information about how to buy it. I downloaded one of
their catalogs, but it made no mention of OS/2 at all. IBM claims on
one page to be supporting OS/2 in 2003, but on another they say they
have withdrawn the product from direct sales, so I am not sure if they
are continuing to sell it or not. Their web site is useless and
confusing.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

If I was you, I would upgrade to eCS 1.0 or 1.1 which is better without
having to dig for the updates from IBM which costs you hundreds of dollars a
year for updates you get free from Serenity Systems.
