I have tried this, with no success. I got nothing, at all, using your
rather sketchy setup description. I then duplicated what works for Web
Family Tree, from Peter Moylan. That resulted in a screen with nothing
on it except your advertizing line.

You should describe which version(s) of PMMail you are supporting.
There have been some major changes in PMMail 3.x, which may make your
work invalid, and that could be the reason why I get nothing.

Hi Doug,

Are you using the setting free_access_for_ip=xxx.yyy.zzz. or
free_access_for_ip=. ?
This is faulty in 1.00A2:-( Please load the 1.00A2 ZIP from
http://www.warp-ecs-owl.de/Peter_PMMAILWEB.html again.

Software requirements are:
PMMail V3.09.x or V3.10.x
eComstation from V1.25 or OS/2 V4
Apache v1.3.x or WEB/2 V1.3x

Is now so in the readme. Thanks for the tip.

Peter

Okay, that helps. <see below>

Okay, I am using WEB2 v 1.3x.

Information that seems to be missing:

PMMailWeb.CFG must be put into the base web2 directory. It is not
found in the cgi-bin directory, and an unconfigured copy (blank
locations for PMMail, and the accounts) is created in the web2
directory, if it is not found there.

Bugs:

When I open an acount folder, and attempt to open a message that
contains a couple of pictures (*.JPG), I get a couple of beeps, and
the picture data is shown in the display (not the picture, just the
encoded text). Hmmm. Some attachments are just completely ignored
(*.WMV).

Trying to select a message from a sub folder of the inbox, results in
going back to the accounts list.

Trying to select another sub folder of the subfolder, results in going
back to the accounts list. Hmmm. It seems that this doesn't happen the
first time you try to select a sub folder of a sub folder.

I will need to find more time to work with this, but I think I will
wait until you figure out these problems.
