I recently upgraded OS/2 2.11 to Warp fullpack. I also have OS/2 TCPIP 2.0,
NFS, and PMX loaded. I did not load the Bonus pack. I then purchased the
Netware Client for OS/2 V2.1 and tried to get it to work. This was tough. But,
here is what worked for me.

Note, I have the 3COM509 card and the network is Ethernet.

1. Call 1-800-426-3395 and request faxback 14221 and 10161.

2. Download from ftp.pcco.ibm.com, /pub/netware_311_and_40:

wsos2111.exe
wsos2112.exe
wsos2213.exe
wsdrv211.exe
os2ut211.exe
os2dc211.exe
os2vmb211.exe

This is Netware requester version 2.2 and is for Warp.

Also download newest LAPS csd: us7045b1.dsk (you need loaddskf to
create image, I found this at software.watson.ibm.com, but it may be at
previously mentioned site.

3. Download patch for Netware rquester -- r211ft.exe

BBS: 919-517-0001
login: novell (1st)
requester (2nd)
password: private

just use option (D) to download ans specify r211ft.exe

4. Rename net.cfg to net.old and protocol.ini to protocol.old and rem out vipx
and vshell from config.sys. I also rem out all Netware stuff from config.sys
since I unsucessfully installed the requester. If you never installed Netware,
you only need to rename protocol.ini.

5. RUN your network card setup program under DOS to get the MACS address (12
digit hex address). Don't change any settings, just write the # down.

6. Install LAPS over existing LAPS and add the IBM IEEE802.2 Protocol.
edit protocol and add mac address. Don't forget the i for ethernet and t
for token! letter followed by address.

7. reboot

8. install netware requester. I selected IPX (GROUP), SPX
Note: I did not edit NET.CFG. I do not have one and system works.

9. DO NOT REBOOT.
Run laps -- change directory to c:\ibmcom and run LAPS. Choose
configure. Add protocol Netware requester. Edit it and depending
on your network turn token and ethernet settings on or off. don't
forget "i" or "t" and MACS adress! you can delete IBM IEEE802.2
protocol, unless you need it.

10. Reboot

11. run r211ft.exe on a floppy to expand. Read the README. At the end of file
are instructions on how to install patch.

12. Disclaimer: this procedure worked for me and I can now access the Network.
Novel and TCPIP do not appear to conflict with one another.
I am not a "systems person", nor claim to be. this is how I got
the software to work and thought I would share my experience.
