I have cable access @ home. As You can guess I have small home server
(ACP2+FP3) running non-stop with online connection. I want to download
some DIVX movies by using P2P software. Currently XNAP 2.5.3 looks the
best for me. XNAP is Java application. Java is GoldenCode 1.4.1_03
port of Sun's 1.4.1.
XNAP is running on my server, and all is OK during approx. first 48
hours. After this period of time usually problems arises. Usually
first sign is when I have problem with log-on to domain served by my
home server.
Generally - it ends with problems even with locally accessing of some
directories (e.g. with P2P downloads) on JFS drive of my server.
For example - accessing it form FileCommander causes hang of FC.
It looks like java P2P app is exhausting some kind of system resources
(file handles ?) - and after long period of time, even system itself
has problems with accessing drive.
Have You any idea ?
BTW: With latest IBM 1.3.1 problem was exactly the same.

Try Xnap 3.0beta3 (I've no experience with it)

From my limited experience with Java I would suggest that you try the
Innotek Java142_01 package. It seems (important word!) to work best out
of the choice of IBM 131, GC 141 and Suns "Innoteked" 142 for the few
apps I use here.
Innoteks Java and other bits should be available from here:-

Hope the above helps.

Pete,
Thx for help. I already found source of problem. It is JFS !
Changing filesytem type from JFS to HPFS solves problem - at least
temporary (since 4 days its working OK).
Generally - if after 3 years since introduction of JFS, if I have such
problems with such basic component of OS like filesystem - it is pure
sign of death od system from maintenance point o view....
You know - I'm die hared fan of OS/2 - but this situation simply kills
me !
Well - now I'm pragmatic, and...thinking about XP more seriously than
never before.
