libtool: ignoring unknown tag CXX

In trying to port Boinc I keep seeing the message: "libtool: ignoring
unknown tag CXX" during builds. Yet during the run of the configure
script I see
"appending configuration tag CXX to libtool"
unknown tag CXX" during builds. Yet during the run of the configure
script I see
"appending configuration tag CXX to libtool"
Is this "normal"? Or is it something I should be concerned about?
FWIW: Most of Boinc is written in C++.
