Opening links from Thunderbird in new tab of existing Firefox?

Hi all,

Whenever I click a link in an email, Firefox opens with a new window
displaying the URL. Within Firefox -> Options -> Tabs, I selected 'a new
tab in the most recent window'. I also tried starting both FF and TB
with parameter /dde. No go. Somewhere (with 1.0.6?) this worked, but now
I can't get this to work. Any tips?

I believe it is broken. Time for a trip to bugzilla?

An old one, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=277754
describes exactly what I experience. I've commented to and voted for the
bug.
