Are there any tricks to getting the Adblock extension to install and work? After installing Adblock "v.5 d3 * nightly 42" here, it perpetually indicates a status of "pending" in the status bar, and attempts to use its context menu fail with a "Adblock is not yet enabled" message. Remove the obviously invalid part of my address to reply direct.

Are you, by any chance, using PmW-Fx?

PmW-Fx is Peter Weilbacher's a bit modified, "unofficial" OS/2 build of
Firefox. See http://weilbacher.org/Mozilla/builds.html

I have that particular version of Adblock running on this beast, which
reports itself as "Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; en-US; rv:1.8)
Gecko/20051213 Firefox/1.5", without any problems. But I got it working
in a bit unusual way :-) I installed Adblock into then-used FF
1.0.something, which I later upgraded to PmW-Fx. Surprisingly,
everything previously installed works (but I have just 3 extensions:
WebDeveloper, TabMix and Adblock).

I should have updated this thread a while back. After uninstalling AdBlock and upgrading to Firefox 1.5.0.1, I was able to install AdBlock successfully.
