Help, I am trying to find out if the 3Com Etherlink II card is compatible
with Warp. 3Com has almost no tech support available. IBM says to call the
card provider. Etc.
If this card is compatible, where can I get a copy of the driver?

I believe the 3COM EtherLink III is the card you want. (I've got one, and it's
very Warp-friendly. Highly recommended.) You would definitely have to get a
driver for the II version from 3COM, if it is even compatible with Warp, which
is in question. It does not appear on IBM's list of compatible hardware...

I have used 3c503 and nw1000 cards successfully with WARP.
You can get the drivers from the 3com ftp site, ftp.3com.com.
I wish I could say that I was as successful in using their 3c589 pcmcia card :-(

It's quite compatible. The drivers are included in TCP/IP 2.0, probably
also with Connect's new stack and MPTS/MPTN/NTS/whatever LAPS is
nowadays called...

As well as 3COM's ftp site, you can download the latest drivers from CompuServe.
Go to 3COM's forum ("find 3COM" and "GO" there). Search the libraries for
a file named "3C5X9X.exe" and download it. It's a self-expanding compressed
disk archive - I believe the right thing to do is to put a formatted floppy in A:, and
from the hard drive directory where the compressed files sits you type:
3C5X9X A: and press <enter>.
This ought to expand the whole mess onto A:, creating sub-dirs along the way.
The file is currently the equivalent of "EtherDisk 4.2", which is what you would
get if your vendor sold you a 3COM card that hadn't sat on the shelves too long...
All drivers (OS/2, NT, WFW, etc) are in there, along with a config utility for the
card.
