WMD? - You need the Bush/Blair combo for that ;-)
Not sure what a .wmd file is exactly - could it be a .wmv file with DRM?
Well, this page suggests otherwise http://www.fileinfo.net/extension/wmd
WMD is described as
"Compressed Windows Media file that can contain multimedia content,
playlist information, and borders (a custom interface) in a single
downloadable file"
and requires
Mac OS Microsoft Windows Media Player 7 or later
or
Windows Microsoft Windows Media Player 7 or later
Maybe mplayer will do the job - not sure about the possible "and borders
(a custom interface)" bit in the above.
The current mplayer is on hobbes and there is a "front end" called
smplayer here
ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/smplayer/smplayer-0.5.21-2008-11-04.zip
You will also need the win32 codec package which is here
http://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/windows-essential-20071007.zip
Read mplayer docs carefully to understand how to setup and configure the
software.
There was a discussion about mplayer in the os2world forums and there is
a "HOW TO: Installing Streaming Audio and Video Support in
Firefox/Seamonkey" that may come in handy - it also refers to the
os2world forum discussion

Have Fun :-)
