On any number of other boxes with the same SONY CD-ROM and other DVD ROM units
and so on there is no problem with CD-RW disks burned. Just on this one box.
OK, I have two new IDE Sony DVD ROM CD-RW units here. What should I expect
would happen if I jam in one of these as a replacement for the IDE Sony CD-ROM
that apparently is unreliable only with some disks? What would RSJ do with
these two units, both capable of writing CD disks?
As well, I've used another of these same Sony IDE DVD ROM CD-RW units in
another case with a DVD-ROM unit, both IDE units and RSJ. In this case, with
the latest DANI SATA driver and DANIatapi drivers, I can see the DVD-ROM as a
valid drive object in the Connections Folder. But the IDE Sony DVD-ROM CD-RW
unit which works perfectly fine for burner purposes, or as an object seen in
the DSJ tool for looking at these devices, does not show up at all in the OS/2
MCP2 latest everything Connections Folder.
See why I am asking this question before taking a lot of stuff in the relay
rack box fest to swap out this errant CD-ROM drive?
Thanks!

Mike,
You should have no problems with the CD-RW - IF you read the RSJ
section of the DANIatapi doc.
RSJ converte any RW device it finds to a worm drive which is why it
does not appear in the connections folder.
