Does anyone know for sure if LILO can Boot OS/2 from the 2nd hard disk?
Where OS/2 is in a LOGICAL partition ? HPFS formated as well.
If not is there any other boot program that will? except os/2 boot
manager that is.
Thanks,

: Thanks,
Use boot manager and direct LILO to boot manager.

I've seen various conflicting postings on what sorts of OS/2 installations
LILO can boot. The nearest thing I've managed to figure out is that LILO
will *NOT* boot OS/2 if it's on a logical partition. :-( If you want to use
LILO as the main boot loader and have the space for an extra logical
partition, one possible workaround I've seen posted is to install OS/2's Boot
Manager and set it up to auto-boot OS/2 with a 1-second delay; then install
LILO and point it to Boot Manager rather than the OS/2 boot partition itself.

This boots os2 from the first disk, but since it uses boot manager it should
boot any partition recognized by boot manager. Note that /dev/sda2 is hpfs.

# Start LILO global section

I picked the other way cuz I could get it to work. Bootmanager
invokes lilo (lilo is installed in the partition, not on the boot
sectors, of the 2nd drive). Maybe I didn't try having lilo kick
up the bootmanager... Interesting. Thanks

I've just finished going the other way-- bringing up LILO from OS/2's
Boot Manager. I've got a swap patition on hard drive 0 (/dev/hda) and
the Linux boot partition on hard drive 1 (/dev/hdb). Both partitions
were created using DOS's fdisk. They had to be declared as primary,
since Linux's fdisk wouldn't deal with extended partitions. LILO,
following the instructions provided in my Slackware package, went into
the root.
So maybe you don't need to use LILO to bring up OS/2.
I have a small problem about this. I use Boot Manager to choose between
my Linux ans OS/2 (FAT filesystem) partitions. Everything is fine, except
when I want to boot DOS. I type "boot /dos" in an OS/2 shell and the
system stops. But it automatically reboots on LILO! (the same happens
the other way round, when I boot /os2). Could you help me on this ?
Max.
