Hi,

is it possible to get the Logitech MX900 mouse running under OS/2 Warp 4 / eCs 1.1
(Bluetooth Optical Mouse on Bluetooth Hub that is connected to USB)?

I tried AMouse 2.5, but I get only the mouse keys running and vertial pointer
movements, but no horizontal movements.

I have a Bluetooth keyboard connected to the Hub too, and it#s working fine.

TIA.

Bye.

Same happens with latest IBM mouse.sys/usbmouse.sys and Logitech MX310
attached as USB. PS/2 works, also previous MX300 works on USB.

Alas, noone has added Bluetooth to the internals of the USB keyboard or
mouse drivers as supported devices. If the Bluetooth-USB keyboard
works, it is as only as BIOS supported devices. If your BIOS has a
switch to enable BIOS support for USB mouse, enable that and you might
get lucky. My new main board's BIOS has such a switch, but I don't have
Bluetooth anything. So this is a WAG.

The USB device driver stack makes allowances for different hardware
attachments, to which any Bluetooth device would appear to the device
driver. BIOS on the other hand supports an interface that is supported
by the regular keyboard & mouse drivers, by-passing the USB keyboard &
mouse drivers. With both enabled, one has USB keyboard & mouse support
before the OS/2 drivers are loaded, and afterwards. In other words
there is more than one path for bluetooth keyboard & mouse hw messages
to take through the OS/2 drivers.

My BIOS does not support USB mice. So I have to rely on USB mouse support by the
operating system. And as neither Warp/eCs nor the Amouse drivers seem to work properly
I was wondering if there was an appropriate driver that is supporting MX900 without
trouble.

Thanks.

Then you are in the unfortunate position of petitioning whoever can
repair the USB mouse driver to adapt it to the bluetooth stack. The
source code for the USB mouse driver is available on the developer
connection device driver kit site. There is also a bluetooth Linux
adaptation for USB available. Someone or yourself needs to put the two
together.

OK, tried a motherboard with legacy USB mouse support - the MX900 seems to work now
(pointer movement, left + right click; no wheel). The mouse works fine with the eCs
driver, but hangs when using AMouse v2.5.

Sir:

When using Amouse, you have to replace the USBmouse driver with the
version that comes with Amouse.
