There are two I really like and a bunch more. I really like Gibbon FTP
which is a PM app and has lots of neat abilities plus a great look. I
also use ncFTP a lot. ncFTP is freeware. You will need the emx runtimes
to use ncFTP. I wont try to sum up the rest. Just visit hobbes and you
will see them all.

Are you using Merlin? If so check out the FTP folders in the templates. They
are really suitable for ftp sites that you are only checking out once, but for
those that you visit regularly, try it out. It's pretty cool to be able to just
browse the site like it was a local folder (just a little slower!).

If you are working behind a firewall, nothing beats Gibbon FTP.
Shareware and really nice.
Current version almost bug-free and have all the functions I need.

Ditto on the Gibbon FTP for the PM, which does a great job handling the
multiple directories in a website.
But I've never used ncFTP because I came across Dr. Sergey Ayukov's NFTP
first, and it's as fast as anything I can imagine. The new version 1.0 has
a very handy new Bookmark feature, and multiple folders, and it is very
easy to open multiple sessions to handle site checks and downloads from
all over the place at the same time. A few keystrokes is all it takes to
jump onto a site, identify new files, start a download, minimize it, and
go to another one. Putting the mouse pointer over the minimized icon on
the OD Tab Launchpad's Tasks panel will show you the status of the
download without even reopening it. I believe the only cripple in the
shareware is a 500,000 byte limitation on file size.
Good luck,
Buddy

The one that comes with Warp 4 seems pretty good to me.
There is one that looks pretty good that comes with the EmTec news reader.
I have not used it much, but it looks pretty nice. Since it is shareware,
you can try it for free. It registers for around $30.
Netscape 2.02 for OS/2 is quite nice for ftp. If you don't know about this,
just put in an ftp address (such as ftp.microsoft.com) in where you normally
type in a URL (such as http://www.yahoo.com) This is nice and it is easy.

G'day Sam,
I like nftp from
ftp.sai.msu.su - /pub/os2/internet/ftp
Price $20 by BMT.
The current version is 1.0. It is plain and easy to use.

The ftp folder is nice, but it would be better with a progress bar. I
prefer to use Neologic FTP. Great program.

Sorry about the late response (both of my PCs and I were off playing
Doom and Quake all weekend <grin>), but I like NFTP 1.00 myself:

I want to get in shape, but the gym is two flights up.
*And* it shows you what is going on in a nice large area below the file
containers as well as being able to resume botched downloads. BTW, it is now
EmTec FTP.

I liked Gibbon FTP quite a lot, but the version I evaluated
lacked REGET and RENAME.
I checked out Emtec FTP, which has everything I want. I would
have been reluctant to register with Neologic, but now that Emtec
has the reigns, I registered with BMT, and am very happy with it.
Be careful evaluating FTP clients. I almost registered one that
had a very nice progress indicator with ETA and dual bar graphs.
Just before registering, I went to check the PUT function, and
found that it did not have this capability at all!

I like EmTec (NeoLogic) FTP, it also support drag&drap, too.
I use v4.6b now.

My favorite is the good old command line NCFTP. It's on hobbes, and
supports reget along with bookmarking and a number of other excellent
features.

If you're talking about NFTP (text-mode FTP client which has a nice fancy
dual-bar status screen, ETA, etc.), it does have a PUT function.
If not, then nevermind. :-)

Thanks to all who responsed. I'm now using FTP-IT, a very nice FTP
client.

Same here. I have FTP Folders within workspace folders all over
the place for different sites. Works well enough not to need anythiing

It's ok as far as it goes, but one thing I don't like about it is that
there is no progress indicator. Another thing is that you can't queue
up several files from different directories.

I also like to use it when uploading files to my homepage. The "drag
and drop" between folders make things easier for me.
I use Gibbon FTP--nice interface and quick.
