I'm with Earthlink and had zero trouble hooking up. I do use InJoy. I'm
very satisfied with the service I get from them. I've been told,
though, that not all POPs are as good as the one to which I connect.

Did he update http://home.earthlink.net/~debu4335/ yet?
Email isn't platform specific, so look for info on how to set up Eudora. All
"supporting a particular os" means is that you can call-in for help with
troubles. It doesn't necessarily mean "works only with <the usual os>". What
you may have to do is figure out how your ISP has changed the authentication
process and redo your settings accordingly. Also look in resolv and resolv2 and
be sure the domain name is either blank or the correct one. It's also possible
that either your news reader or email program may not be able to use newer
authentication routines.

From the other side of the coin: They bought out an excellent ISP that I
was using and turned it into a quagmire... This was for all users and not
just the OS/2 ones...

Since I've had problems with Earthlink support in the past, I'll toss
my ISP's name into the ring as an alternative: toast.net. I've had
few problems and their support, when I've needed it, has been good.

attglobal.net... they absorbed ibm.net.... there's even an OS/2 dialer
for it, but Injoy works just fine with it too. In the 6 years I used it I
connected the first time, every time. Mail and news flawless too.

I am not sure that I would go out on a limb, and say everything works
perfectly, but attglobal is pretty good, MOST of the time, and I have
not had too many problems with the attglobal dialer (v1.70), for OS/2.
Check out:
where you will find more information, and, you can download the
dialer. Be sure to use the PPP protocol, the SLIP protocol seems to be
broken.
On the other hand, I don't use attglobal much, anymore, because I have
an alternate ADSL connection (not supported by attglobal), which I use
when I am at home. The attglobal connection gets used when I am away
from home.
Hope this helps...

I've been with Earthlink for several years and from time to time have
been dissatisfied with their news servers. But just yesterday they
announced new mail servers have been installed. I'm using one now and
it is *fast*. So now I have no complaints *except* that the POPS in
the Washington DC area seem to be oversubscribed and sometimes my
downloads are slow. I'm sure they'll fix that, too.

I'm jumping in late in this thread, but let me offer another choice.
In 1996 I went to a local computer trade show here in Marlborough, MA,
and subsequently signed up with StarNet (www.star.net, at the time).
I got InJoy not long after, had very few problems with them then, and nothing
connectivity-wise since. About 2 years ago they were bought out by
www.ttlc.net. Still, good service, and they let me keep my "handle", StarNet.
I believe that TTLC has gone national now. They're 24x7, of darned close
to it. Even though their support is in Texas or Colorado or somewhere else
today, as the wind blows, I've still never had a connecitvity problem with
them using InJoy and OS/2 or with eCS trials.
I'm not up on all their offerings, but for residential dial-up you might want
to check them out at http://www.ttlc.net/residential/index.php
I still pay $19.95/month which includes about 10 MByes of webpages.
I believe they're still out of New Hampshire.

Same here! What a relief! I felt like I was back on a 2400 modem. :)

That's no longer true. It flies now. As of a couple of days ago.
Just a few days ago, Attglobal changed all their local dialup access
phone numbers for the greater SF Bay Area (California).
They TOLD NO ONE beforehand!! The new ones weren't advertised in any
way. No email advices, nothing! And the old numbers simply stopped
working.
What a mess, trying to get back my access. I have it now, largely,
but sheeeesh!! Customer friendly? NOT!!
