I don't want to get into a religious battle here but out of curiosity,
in a shop that has mixed NT and Netware (5) with Groupwise 5.5 and SQL
Server as the main database, is there any advantage to moving entirely
to NT (this shop is about 400 folks).

I made some comments that Netware is primarily a file and print server
plaform which it does really well while NT is better as an application
server. I think this is reasonable. But I got some flak saying, not
true, Netware is a great application server and they cited Websphere,
Oracle (no others though).

Some comments

1. Many more apps available for NT (or Win2K)
2. What is Netware 5 multi processor support like

Comments?

Thanks

Larry

Larry,
your thinking is correct.
Oracle, WebSphere, etc. etc. are NOT applications.
They are application ENGINES.
Few applications exist - GroupWise, various utilities, etc.
Your mileage may vary.
