Thanks in advance for any help.

at the server console," load setpass supervisor"
If you have been locke out due to intruder lockout, then "enable login"
at the server console.

The setpass utility doesn't come with netware. You'll have to download
it (it's on my web page), put it on a floppy and load it from there.
Welcome to Windows 95 where you click "START" to "SHUT DOWN".

Did you only have one supervisor equivalent account on this server? No
one else has a supervisor password? Or have ALL the supervisor
equivalent accounts and passwords stopped working?

Roger,
Try paying a visit to Simple Nomads' home page at
www.fastlane.net/homepages/thegnome and read the hacking FAQ.
It's a great place for newbies and experienced admins alike.
It has more than one way to get around this problem. And I know
they all work.
Thanks again SN.
Chuck
Although the Netware default is that users can't see the sys:\system, if you can
find someone on the network who can, run security.exe. It will report any
supervisor equivilants. You can then change the supervisor password by logging
in as them. What about your backup account - if you're backing up from a workstation
that user account probably has at least full read permissions in all dirs, perhaps
even supervisor level access.
Lotsa luck...

Good Luck.

Do the following thing:
Make sure the network is quiet. We're going to add some magic to your
server, but we don't want any users around...
Locate your server.
Press LShift-RShift-Alt-Esc (to enter the NetWare debugger).
THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS ARE CASE SENSITIVE
Type d VerifyPassword 6 (Enter; That's the key with the huge arrow on it)
Write down the 6 bytes on a piece of paper
Type c VerifyPassword=B8 0 0 0 0 C3 (Enter)
Type g (Enter)
From this moment NO PASSWORD CHECKING IS DONE AT ALL
Find a workstation. Login in as Supervisor and run SETPASS.EXE to re-assign
your password (of course without knowing the current, because we disabled
password checking on the server).
Since having password checking disabled is quite an unpleasant situation to
leave a NetWare server in, you might want to enable password checking.
To do this, enter the debugger the same way you did previously (ShShAltEsc)
Type c VerifyPassword=ENTER THE SIX BYTES YOU WROTE DOWN (Enter)
Type g
Everything is back to normal.
If not, down and restart your server. This has the same effect, but takes
longer.
The reason we don't want any users around is that during the debug session
the server is not available for any network clients.
Kind regards,

If your version of SETPASS.NLM is similar to mine, then just key-in
"load setpass supervisor password" at the console, and the password
of supervisor will become "password" or whatever string you substitute
to it.
If not, you may come and get mine...
