I recently passed the test and I got a score report right after the test.
Does anyone know if Novell is going to send me an official cerification?

Thanks.

You oughta get a certification packer in about 6 - 8 weeks.

It just takes a few weeks. I just got my stuff in the mail yesterday
for passing the 3.1-4.1 update test 3 weeks ago.

That depend on whether you registered to take the test for just the CNA or
as part of the requirements for the CNE. If the former, they will send you
a certificate. If the latter, they will just wait until you have passed
all the CNE tests and then send you a CNE certificate. It usually takes
about four weeks for it to arrive. If you are going for the CNE and still
want a CNA certificate I am sure that Novell will send you one, if you
call them and ask nicely.

Not quite. If you are a CNE, you automatically are a CNA, as was explained to
me by several CNIs and a couple of Drake testing centers. Passing the
Administration test makes you a CNA.

If you're anxious to find out what's going on, call 1-800-NetWare. Novell will
be able to tell you what your status is and when you ought to be getting your
packet. Congratulations on passing.

The way I understand it, there are 2 different versions of the
test...One is the Certified Novell Administrator test for 3.x or 4.x,
and the other is the 3.x or 4.x system administration...both tests
count towards a CNE certification, but only the certified novell admin
test will make you a CNA...so officially you are not a CNA unless you
pass that version of the test..although it would seem that being a CNA
would make much difference if you were a CNE, but it is a nice step to
get a certification early on in the process as I did to keep the drive
alive to the 7 test CNE plateau..

I took my test on May 28 and I received certifcation package from Novell
on June 17....

Thank you all once again for the responses from the Novell community.

You are right that there are two version of each administrator test for 3.x and
4.x, but these versions are the CNE/CNA version and the CNI version. Taking
the CNE/CNA version will automatically make you a CNA. In my case, I
registered for the one test, past it, and about six weeks later, received
notification of my status.

Hummm,

This is very curious. I took this test last year abouta this time on my
way to completing all the cne tests and they sent me the CNE certificate
within a couple of weeks of taking the test. I mean once you get your
CNE, the CNA is kind of superflous, but it does give you a nice
psychological boost as you study for those damn tests.

Maybe others have current info. if so a post here would be nice.

<<<VARIOUS STUFF ABOUT WHAT/WHY/WHEN CNE/CNA CERTS>>>

I spoke to Novell Europe yesterday.

If you take 4.1 System Admin as part of a CNE, you can "ring up about a
week later" (quote) and ask for a CNA-4 if you want one." If you
don't ask, you won't get one as a matter of course.

If you are actually registered for the CNA-4, then your certificate is
sent out automatically in the same way as the CNE ones (after 4-6 weeks
as soon as you pass the requirements.)

Question here -- what would be advisable -- taking the CNA 3.12 or going for
CNA 4.1? Plus -- if anyone knows -- what are the current going rates for
CNA's and CNE's ?
