Hi,

well i have a novell 3.12 network, fine. most of the computers in the net
are macs and there s no problem with these machines running tcp/ip and
having access to the server. for administration i use a dos-book with a
xircom ethernet adapter, windows for workgroups 3.11 and the software
required for accessing the server over ipx. when i try to install the
wfwtcp software from microsoft for tcp/ip connectivity i have to use the
ndis-real-time driver for the ethernet card, no problem still. to further
get connected to novell over ipx i ve to use the odi driver with ipx
protocoll. but after restart of the computer the tcp/ip stack loads
without any error, but as soon as the startnet command for the
novell-network is given, the computer says the there s allready a lan
driver loaded and i ve no connection to the server. any ideas???

thanks josef

You need to check with Xircom and get the latest NDIS3 IPX driver for WFW.
I know they have it because we're using it here.

Hi....

Well... If you wont to use Novell NetWare and MS Network from WfW both
simultaneuosly, you have to use ODI drivers (such as LSL.COM, IPXODI.EXE
an so on). In WfW network Preferences box you have to set "Use ODI
Drivers". MS TCP-IP16 doesn't work vith ODI.. :(((.

You have to use MS TCP-IP 32 bit, thats never, and it works fine with
ODI drivers. In AUTOEXEC.BAT then you have written:

call \nwclient\startnet.bat
c:\windows\odihlp.exe
c:\windows\net start

I think thats all...

Another protocols, such as NetBEUI, and IPX/SPX compatible protocol in
WfW you can remove.

You may need to have a multi-protocol configuration on your net.cfg. I
can connect to NetWare 4.1 using eith IPX or TCP/IP the choice is your.

Try something like this

Link Support
Buffers 10 1500
MemPool 6192
Max Boards 4
Max Stacks 4

Link Driver PCNTNW
FRAME Ethernet_802.2
FRAME Ethernet_II
PROTOCOL IPX E0 ETHERNET_802.2
PROTOCOL IP 800 ETHERNET_II
PROTOCOL ARP 806 ETHERNET_II
PROTOCOL RARP 8035 ETHERNET_II

Protocol TCPIP
PATH TCP_CFG C:\NET\TCP

NWIP
NWIP_DOMAIN_NAME NWIP.NETCOMSVS.CO.UK
NSQ_BROADCAST ON
NWIP1_1 COMPATIBILITY OFF
AUTORETRIES 1
AUTORETRY SECS 10

NetWare DOS Requester
FIRST NETWORK DRIVE = F
NETWARE PROTOCOL = NDS BIND
network printers=9
Preferred Server = queeg
Preferred Tree ncs

Hope this helps
