How do I create a cron-like job in the xp command window to run, say
once a week or once a day at specified times?

You want to leave a command prompt session open for days or weeks at a time?

When I need to run some old DOS program or a batch file on a regular basis,
I use the task scheduler (open "help and support" and enter "schedule a
task") to do it.
