So, I'm on a nostalgia trip, having recently revisited Power C, Power C
Trace and associated database and windowing libraries, learning stuff
that I tried in the '90s but never had the time to master. I'm now
using Turbo C++ 3.00 with Turbo Vision (1.x, I think). I've rummaged
through the various internet archives (I'm amazed how much stuff there
is) and am well advanced on a TC++/TV application.
I just wondered if there was still any one out there either still using
C++ TV or with decent knowledge of it. With the examples I've found on
the web plus buying a second hand copy of Borland's 'Turbo Vison for
C++' reference I'm doing pretty well but occasionally it would be great
to be able to clarify something or get suggestions from others. So I'd
like to hear from you if so.
As I don't have a pure DOS set up I'm using the command prompt of XP
for compiling and running stuff, which works fine.
Just for the record, I restarted serious hobby programming (if that's
not a contradiction) last September, getting into C#/.NET - which I
like and Visual Studio Express is an excellent IDE - and resurrecting
my Micro Focus COBOL compiler. However the call from way back got to
me with the feeling that I had unfinished business.

Sign of the times, too much spam. :-(

Sadly I can't help directly here. Try looking at the DJGPP sources to
SETedit or RHIDE since SET (Salvador Eduardo Tropea?) was big on
TVision. I'm not sure how much he still maintains the former, and
RHIDE is definitely abandoned, plus for sure he's almost disappeared
from DJGPP, but hey, maybe he will answer a few questions. At least
the source is available! :-/

Thanks. I was aware of both of these and also
http://www.sigala.it/sergio/tvision/ which has alot of stuff.
Ah well, I'll just plough on.
