I want to take in some digital information and output some
control information without the need for an extra card.

I thought the parallel port would be a good place to do this.

Does anyone know how to do this :
I guess I need to know how to program the parallel port itself
(8255 or whatever) and what pins come from the parallel port to
the 25 pin D connector on the back of the computer.

Are these ports standard on IBM AT compatible computers.
How compatible would the hardware be with a PS/2.

Please sent any comments or suggestions.

Thanks in advance.
