Running DOS console programs on Android

My reading so far has pointed me to start with aFreeBox:

Has anyone had better results with another free DOS emulator for
Android?

aDosBox has more downloads:

But aDosBox has a lower overall rating and its last update was 4 years
prior to the last update of aFreeBox. The rating may be skewed because
its much higher percentage of "1" ratings might be due to DOS newbies
giving up too quickly and blaming the emulator.

I can have multiple VDOS sessions in Windows. I am new to Android. Can
I run multiple DOS programs in Android with a DOS emulator?

Or should I install both aFreeBox and aDosBox (and auto-start a
desired DOS program in its Autoexec.bat file) so Android will let me
run multiple "instances" of an emulator?

BTW: My searching turned up something I hadn't seen before for
Windows:

I have been using VDOS in preference to DOSBox for writing BASIC
programs in the developer's IDE because VDOS provides access to the
Windows clipboard.

I haven't tried vDosPlus yet.

I downloaded:
aFreeBox
aDosBox
gDosBox
lDosBox

So far, I like aDosBox best.

Except changing its autoexec.bat file is a PITA ... because the
Android file system is hosed. I tried three file managers (Astro, ES
File Explorer, and the built in File Explorer) but haven't found the
right settings to be able to reach the needed folder.

Then there is the "storage/emulated/0" folder which I haven't figured
out how it works. That folder doesn't seem easy to get to, either.

The "real" locations of files can be difficult to track down because
Android seems to use aliases/links. It can be difficult to transfer
files between the tablet and a PC via a USB connection because the PC
may not be able to find a file in the folder where Astro says it is.

But I *did* get my favorite DOS BASIC programming language IDE to run
on a small, inexpensive Android tablet with aDosBox.
