I downloaded:
aFreeBox
aDosBox
gDosBox
lDosBox
So far, I like aDosBox best.
Except changing its autoexec.bat file is a PITA ... because the
Android file system is hosed. I tried three file managers (Astro, ES
File Explorer, and the built in File Explorer) but haven't found the
right settings to be able to reach the needed folder.
A good description of one messy process to change the autoexec "file"
(that is part of the configuration file) for aDosBox is here:

"The problem is that configuration file resides in directory
unaccessible to Android user but accessible to DOSBox program."
Then there is the "storage/emulated/0" folder which I haven't figured
out how it works. That folder doesn't seem easy to get to, either.
The "real" locations of files can be difficult to track down because
Android seems to use aliases/links. It can be difficult to transfer
files between the tablet and a PC via a USB connection because the PC
may not be able to find a file in the folder where Astro says it is.
But I *did* get my favorite DOS BASIC programming language IDE to run
on a small, inexpensive Android tablet with aDosBox.
Woo hoo!
