The original was posted in 1994 so the poster probably isn't around any
more. The plotter was new in 1985 and discontinued in 1990 so it is *really*
old. Because of that you're probably not going to find any drivers for it
and certainly not for Windows. However, given that this is a DOS group, it
looks like you should be able to do something with it using QBASIC or at the
command line (I'm not sure how well it would work at a DOS prompt under
Windows greater than 3.1 because it doesn't allow direct access to the
printer port). There's a few sample commands at
http://www.dancad3d.com/S0301170.HTM and some more technical details at
http://www.atarimagazines.com/creative/v11n9/72_Epson_HI80_a_versatile.php.
The plotter should be connected to your parallel port (assuming your
computer still has one) and you can try sending it commands via LPRINT in
QBASIC (eg LPRINT "DF") or ECHO at the command prompt (eg ECHO DF > LPT1).
Combining info from the two sites should be enough to make the plotter do
*something*, even if it's just drawing a straight line. The part numbers for
replacement pens are 6751-01 (black), 6751-02 (red), 6751-03 (green) and
6751-04 (blue) but these were also discontinued a long time ago. Not sure if
rigging up the inner from a ballpoint pen might work, but probably not.
