These drivers were so common 6 or 7 years ago, I never dreamed that finding
them would be a problem. But it seems to be a BIG problem now.
The Creative Labs web site no longer has DOS-based drivers (at least, I
couldn't find any there).
After spending an hour or so with a search engine, I found a site that
appears to have the necessary drivers (www.driverzone.com).
However, the #@%&$ aliasing scheme used on that site won't give my non-
WinDoze browser access to the downloadable files.
PLEASE! Does anyone know any other site(s) -- preferably non-aliased --
where =DOS= SB16 drivers can be downloaded?
All leads appreciated. Thanks.

If that doesn't work for some reason, go here:
http://www.americas.creative.com/support/welcome.asp?RD=download
Type in CT1750 in the "Or...model number" box, click GO.
A pop-up window will appear...click the Sound Blaster 16 link.
On the right side of the next window that comes up, click "Download DRIVERS".
From the pull-down menu on that page, select DOS.

Really appreciate the information, Greg. Thanks for posting.
Unfortunately, my attempts to access both URLs resulted in this message:

If anyone has a direct, non-aliased link where one can download SB16
DOS drivers, I'd appreciate hearing about it. Thanks.
I got the second site right-off. I did not try the first one. I also
did not go any farther than to get the URL.

Thanks, Jack. Yeah, I'm fairly certain the problem lies in my
DOS browser. It doesn't know about scripted aliasing. That's
why I need to find a non-aliased URL from which to download the
SB16 DOS-based drivers.
And, no...installing WinDoze is not a viable option. ;)

I hope that's not Arachne that your using. I haven't had the chance to
use my copy, but it sure looks good. (Ignoring the over-graphication.
:)) )

Nah, I'm using an older version of Net-Tamer -- which is a great
'Net access program -- but I should probably try upgrading to a
newer version.
