Hi all,
I have the following issue: I use a DOS program that needs to print
Greek alphabet characters to an Epson Stylus Color 760 printer. It's
connected via parallel port and from what I've looked around I somehow
need to send an ESC/P command to the printer and tell him to use the
Greek character set (pc437 greek). I can't find anyone that shows how
to properly syntax this command and how to send it. The PC that runs
that DOS program is running on pure DOS but I can also use a WinXP I
have here if needed. The commands I found that change character tables
are the following:

PC437 Greek -> ESC ( t 3 0 1 1 16 (this seems to be the most
compatible)
PC851 Greek -> ESC ( t 3 0 1 4 0
PC869 Greek -> ESC ( t 3 0 1 15 0
ISO8859-7 Latin/Greek - ESC ( t 3 0 1 29 7
ISO Latin 7 Greek - ESC ( t 3 0 1 127 7

The following sites have some info on ESC/P but I need to know how to
properly syntax it and how I call that specific greek character chart.

dragon-it.co.uk/links/epson_printer_codes.htm
jumbery.com/printercodes/index.htm
uktsupport.co.uk/epson/impact/esc2gui.htm

If it's of any help, you can look in the Epson ESC/P Reference Manual
(saved from Epson's support site)

Any tips would be welcome! Thanks

At a COMMAND or CMD prompt, say
copy con esc_seq.txt

then hold down the Alt key while typing 27
type the rest of the string followed by Ctrl+Z and Enter

Now, when you
copy esc_seq.txt prn
the sequence will be sent to the printer connected to the PRN device. You
might have to specify LPT1 instead.

store PC I need it to print greek tomorrow and let you know. Thanks

You can also use a hex editor, a text editor that allows extended
characters, debug, or the command line trick to create a file consisting
of just the ESC character - copy/paste when you need and ESC character.
